Statistical Probably of Truth
Pastor Robert Prentice (PB or Pastor Bob to his friends) this AM at CCBC:
The numerical chances of all the prophecies concerning Christ's first advent, and that advent alone, not to mention all of the rest of fulfilled prophecies; are so extraodinary that they go beyond any chance or uncertainty at all. They point to the accuracy, surety, and certainty of the Scriptures, and to the supernatural power and design of God to bring them about.
With that certainty in mind, we can be sure beyond any degree that what God has promised for the future, He will bring about just as accurately and surely. "Thus, you are to know that God is the Lord!""
If you add up all the prophecies regarding Christ, 350+ in all, the statistical analysis would place it in the absolute truth category. Only a dozen or two would be needed to make it a statistical certainty. And that does not even take into account all the miracles He performed which attest to His divinty.
To repeat the question: "Are you willing to accept the truth regardless of the consequences/impacts it may have on your life?" The facts support the truth of Christ's claims and the reality of the Scriptures being true. How will your heart respond? Or will your pride get in the way of the admission of your being falable and in need? Have done so, I can tell you it is worth it. There is nothing wrong with admitting you need help and asking for it.
I John 5:13 - "that you may know that you have eternal life."
