How biblical is "You are Not my Father or Mother??"
Listen to your father, who gave you life,
and do not despise your mother when she is old.
23Buy the truth and do not sell it;
get wisdom, discipline and understanding.
24The father of a righteous man has great joy;
he who has a wise son delights in him.
25May your father and mother be glad;
may she who gave you birth rejoice!

Coming up next: Chapter 1 - The Face of Evil, His Identification -
Who is the proud and arrogant person?
Who is the "proud and arrogant man?" Proverbs 21:24.
Is it the one who trusts in his own judgment, logic, thinking?
Or the one who trusts in God and the direction provided in His word?
Is it the one who follows his feelings?
Or the one who considers the results/weighs the consequences?
Regardless of what we think, Proverbs has the answer.
Read it and see for yourself.

Questions for the Prodigal Son
What about Proverbs 19:26? Has he not robbed his father of a son and driven his mother out of her role as his mother?

Seeing the invisible
From Dr. Charles Stanley's When the Enemy Strikes . . .
"We need to recognize that not everything is seen with physical eyes or heard with physical ears. We must ask the Lord to reveal to us what we need to know that we aren't seeing or hearing with our physical eyes and ears."
[I would add that team spirit is an adequate example of that which cannot be seen and would not be heard if not expressed verbally, yet it clearly exists. There are many other examples of the unseen.]
"What matters is not what we think we perceive, or what others tell us is the truth, but what God says is the accurate perception and the truth of any situation."
Psalm 119:66 - "Teach me good judgment and knowledge"
